WooCommerce setup on your Nembol account

This is an updated guide (May 26th 2019) to setup WooCommerce with your Nembol account. You will then be able to publish your WooCommerce products to eBay, Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, Storenvy, Facebook, and more

To have everything working smoothly, you should make sure that both your WooCommerce and your WordPress are regularly updated, and that you do not have other apps active that perform quantity sync across channels. We say this for the several users moving to Nembol from other, often more complex tools.

Now, in order to connect your WooCommerce website with Nembol, you need to:

  • In your WordPress admin interface (mystore.com/wp-admin), go to WooCommerce > Settings and in the “Advanced” tab, go under Legacy API and flag ON “Enable the legacy REST API“. Don’t forget to save changes at the bottom.

In WooCommerce Settings, enable the legacy REST API and save Changes

  • In your WordPress settings, go in Permalinks settings (mystore.com/woocommerce/wp-admin/options-permalink.php) and allow Post name, as shown in the image below. Save changes.

Activate Post name under WooCommerce Permalinks and click “Save changes”

  • In your Nembol login page to WooCommerce, write your store name with the HTTPS address if you have https active. Therefore https://mystore.com and not only http://mystore.com . The S is the key here.

You’re all set! Now open Nembol, go to Channels, select WooCommerce, and tap “Login”, use your own username and password, set your WooCommerce Settings inside Nembol, and you’re ready to upload products to your WooCommerce shop using Nembol, or use Nembol to publish your WooCommerce products on any or all of Amazon, eBay, Storenvy, Etsy, Shopify, PrestaShop, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr!

WooCommerce settings in Nembol

You will access WooCommerce settings in Nembol at the end of your login process, or anytime you want by clicking the grey Settings icon in the Channel bar.

You can set: Quantity sync settings, Publish settings, Import settings.

Choose category and product status you wish Nembol to bulk publish products into your WooCommerce

Choose category and product status you wish Nembol to bulk publish products into your WooCommerce

Nembol can publish in a specific category, we advise Nembol users to pick a category, publish there all products belonging to it, then come back into settings, change category, and publish another bulk of products.

Categories can also be easily reassigned lager in WooCommerce.

Nembol allows you to choose also the product status in WooCommerce. This too can be changed later in WooCommerce

Set if Nembol shall import your HTML descriptions, and import from what WooCommerce category.

Set if Nembol shall import your HTML descriptions, and import from what WooCommerce category.

You may import your products from WooCommerce to Nembol with their full HTML descriptions. This is useful to have better formatted descriptions in other channels such as Shopify or eBay.

It is also useful because Nembol can automatically extracts bullets from descriptions to fill Amazon bullets.

Once your products were imported without HTML, this cannot be undone, unless you delete all products from Nembol and import again. This will break any inventory sync you may have set in the meantime.

Trouble shooting

If you have problems in saving pictures in WooCommerce — solution

Some users encountered issues with publishing photos. Note that Nembol currently does not modify your photo format, therefore verify that your original pictures abide to the picture formats you set in your WordPress account at /woocommerce/wp-admin/options-media.php (screenshot below).

Your picture uploads must be consistent with image settings in your WooCommerce Media Settings

Also note that some users had issues with their WordPress savings pictures. Please see in your /wp-admin/options-media.php settings and stick to the default archive /wp-content/uploads/.

SOLUTION to error: “Sorry, you are not allowed to create resources”

Some users recently received an error: “Sorry, you are not allowed to create resources” back from WooCommerce. Remember you can always read errors in your Nembol product. In this case your product will not list on WooCommerce (see screenshot below):

If you get a “Sorry you are not allowed to create resources, it can be the permissions of your user, or something a little bit more complex in the code. Read on!

If you get a “Sorry you are not allowed to create resources, it can be the permissions of your user, or something a little bit more complex in the code. Read on!

The error is often due to insufficient permissions attributed in your WordPress to the user you used to login with Nembol. Here is how to solve it:

  • Visit your user admin area at http://yourwoocommercestore.com/woocommerce/wp-admin/users.php

  • Check the permissions of the user you just used to login via Nembol. See the screenshot below, users can have different roles and not all roles can publish products

  • Specifically: you’ll be ok with “Administrator” users, and most of the times with “Shop manager”. “Editor” role for instance will login ok with Nembol, but is one of the roles that will return the error “Sorry, you are not allowed to create resources”

Verify the “Role” of the user you used to login to WooCommerce via Nembol

“Administrator” and “Shop manager” roles have permission to publish products and will not incur in the “Sorry, you are not allowed to create resources” error.

If it still does not work: “sorry your are not allowed to create resources”

There is a solution at this link: https://github.com/WP-API/Basic-Auth/issues/35: you’ll have to modify the .htaccess Wordpress server configuration file. And to do so you have an explanation at this other link: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/9-most-useful-htaccess-tricks-for-wordpress/

You’ll need your developers to do this on your behalf, unless you are your own server maintainer.

Please let us know in the comments below if you had any other issues. Or in the in-app chat. We’ll do the etra-mile to help you solving it.
